April 24: Symbolism of Buddha Shakyamuni - Introduction to the Sacred Art of Tibet
This lecture will focus on the image of Buddha Shakyamuni, the deep symbolism and the relation to the vast Dharma teachings and iconography of Tibetan Buddhism. April 25: Symbolism of Female Buddha, Tara This lecture will explain the meaning of the Bodhisattva images, the deeper symbolism relating to the practices on the various levels of tantra Both lectures will include short meditations and mantra sessions. |
Master Thangka painter Andy Weber has over 35 years of experience creating iconographical art of Tibetan Buddhism. He first studied under the guidance of accomplished masters in India and Nepal. His unique style of of authentic images for visualization are highly respected by Tibetan lamas of all traditions, many of whom who have commissioned his work.
