Traditional Healing Wisdom
with Dr. Julia Lee
Saturday, October 7, 2023 2:00pm–3:15pm PDT (Pacific Daylight Time) In person at the center. For thousands of years, Buddhist teachings were transmitted alongside medical traditions that understood the existence of a healing life force within us all. Over the centuries, the life force (given different names based on culture, such as qi and prana) was mapped out to flow in energy channels in the body. It was understood that these energy channels can become congested, and that this congestion is the basis for disease, leading to physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual illnesses.
Through the centuries, many tools and techniques have been developed to break up this congestion and promote better health and circulation in the human bodymind. We are currently living in exciting times where modern technology is now capable of reflecting the existence of these energy channels. In this event, Dr. Julia Lee will give an overview of this traditional healing wisdom and some related scientific studies, as well as practical ways of cultivating this way of healing in our own lives. Dr. Lee will interweave group discussion, Q&A, and various exercises for a dynamic experience. Please bring a pen and paper for some of the exercises. |
Dr. Julia Lee practices acupuncture and herbal medicine in a way that aligns with the essence of traditional medicine and is very relevant to the needs of modern times. Previously, she was a scientific researcher, and her practice, South Bay Internal Healing, is informed by current medical research as well as ancient healing wisdom.
